Simon Cancer Center Names First Brand Professor

Internationally recognized cancer researcher Dr. Murray Korc is the first Myles Brand Professor of Cancer Research at the Indiana University Melvin and Bren Simon Cancer Center. The position is named for the 16th president of IU, who died of pancreatic cancer in 2009. Korc’s research team will move to the IUPUI campus funded by the Physician Scientist Initiative, created by the IU School of Medicine and backed by a $60 million grant from the Lilly Endowment.
