IUPUI's Hall of Fame Connection

Lauren Christopher of the Purdue School of Engineering and Technology at IUPUI (electrical and computer engineering department) will join an elite circle of influential figures such as Apple co-founder Steve Jobs and Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen this fall as one of the 2010 inductees into the Consumer Electronics Hall of Fame.

Christopher was the manager of a team that developed the digital satellite receiver system for DirecTV in the 1990s, earning her this year's honor. Other 2010 inductees at the October ceremony in San Francisco include pioneers in such fields as plasma display panel and GPS (global positioning system) technology.
